the best way to spend a day by urself would be to wear ur sports shoes, grab ur camera and start walking..
get ut of ur hotel/house etc. and just start walking..at everyturn u would find something intresting... in the suburbs, there is a long stretch of 'graffiti'ed walls which the locals and college students had done as a drive to save the environment and make the earth a better place...
the best places would beColaba- one can easily spend a whole day at Colaba...
if ur intrested in getting junk jewellery like beads, stones, earrings, belts and even casual shorts and skirts.. colaba causeway is the best place for girls...but u have to remain alert since the shopkeepers demand high prices from foreigners,......sometimes triple of what one would actually pay...so u have to be street smart while shopping at Causeway....
the Gateway of India remains to be on the top, opposite that is the Taj hotel where the terrorist attack had taken place which lasted over 2 days and killed many innocents...they have renovated the whole place but even today one can feel the tense atmosphere of that day....the "Leopold cafe" is another such place where the terrorists had fired before entering the Taj... Leopold cafe remains to be one of the most visited tourist attractions...
if u get tired lookin around the best place to try indian kababs and rolls is around the corner...called "BADE MIYAANS" , its one of the most crowded places..but promises amazing, spicy kababs and rolls...
so nest time ur in india have nothing to do...just head out..:P
